ABOUT US

Hello my name is Heidi, I am one of the owners of Colorado Rose and proud wife to the other owner and partner in cake, Kyle. We are a husband and wife team, in the Loveland/Berthoud area. I was born in Colorado and am grateful for this place I call home. Kyle, born in Arizona, moved to the beautiful Colorado at the tender age of 6. We found out we actually grew up down the road from each other and could have meet 10 years earlier had I not moved across town in Elementary school.

I  grew up with baking and decorating being a staple in my household. I always wanted to be an artist, but did not expect to be doing it with sugar. I actually worked on and off with my mom for 16 years while going to CSU for a degree in teaching, and taught for a few years before deciding to stay at home to raise our sons. As much as I loved teaching, I can not imagine doing anything else, cakes and the wedding world has become such a wonderful part of my life. Not to say the path to getting here has been easy, but it has made us truly grateful to be here.

Being an artist I have such respect when I meet other artists. I not only feel in love with Kyle but his amazing and raw talent as an artist. Kyle’s artistry took him many incredible directions. When we met in 2003 he had been an airbrush artist and created custom paint jobs on numerous vehicles that went on to win awards. He was an airbrush professor, and then transitioned into the digital arts as a concept artist for the video game industry. After that he went on to design toys for a company that had him working along side companies like Disney, Apple, Hasbro, and many others. While his accomplishments have been amazing, we really struggled with work life balance and missing out on much needed family time.  Don’t we all!!

We decided to take that big step in 2019 of Kyle working with me full time. We are beyond grateful to be able to work together in creating beautiful and just as importantly delicious cakes to celebrate in our couples marriages. The best thing about creating wedding cakes, as cheesy as it sound is 100% true, we LOVE being a part of such a special day bringing people together with love and celebration. We celebrate all life and all love and am so grateful when I get to be a part of my couples special days. We can not wait to see where this journey takes us!
